Consulting and Management
Amifore is a small consulting firm serving startups, established businesses, public offices, and research organizations. Our work centers on problems that fall between conventional roles: evaluating whether a technology investment is justified, managing the transition from an informal team to a structured organization, or bringing disciplined analysis to a decision with significant consequences.
We are deliberately structured for smaller engagements. Our clients typically have limited budgets and limited time, so we define the scope narrowly, agree on deliverables in writing before work begins, and keep the process as simple as the problem allows. We regularly take on short fixed-price projects, small contracts, and subcontracts for both private and public-sector clients.
Decision support & analysis
Many of the decisions we assist with depend on how other parties will respond. Pricing, competitive bids, contract and partnership terms, and incentive structures all fall into this category. We help clients examine their options systematically and provide a basis for comparison that is more reliable than intuition alone.
For clients with accumulated data and no capacity to analyze it, we perform the analysis and report the findings in clear, non-technical language, including a candid account of what the data can and cannot support. We also conduct independent technical reviews for organizations preparing to invest in, purchase from, or partner with a party whose technical claims they are not positioned to verify.
Technology assessment & implementation
We advise organizations on whether tools such as AI would provide a genuine return, and we are direct when the answer is no. Where the case is sound, we design and build the solution. Past work has included systems for drafting routine correspondence, retrieving answers from an organization's internal documents, and integrating software that was never designed to work together. Solutions can be deployed in the cloud, on the client's own infrastructure, or in fully offline environments where data must remain on site. Every system is tested for reliability and failure modes before the client depends on it.
Team development & operations
As organizations grow, informal arrangements become a liability. We assist with defining responsibilities, hiring and onboarding, meeting structure, performance feedback, and the early resolution of conflict. This guidance is grounded in direct experience managing teams under demanding deadlines and constrained resources.
We also help organizations standardize how work is performed so that outcomes do not depend on individual staff. This typically involves documenting procedures, introducing simple quality controls, and establishing training for new personnel. These methods were developed in research laboratory settings, where procedural errors carry a high cost, and they transfer readily to offices, clinics, and production environments.
Support for companies at every stage
Companies face different problems at each stage of their development, and we work with founders and leadership teams across all of them. At the earliest stage, that means testing whether a product idea holds up under scrutiny, choosing which technology to build and which to buy, setting prices and terms with little precedent to rely on, and preparing materials for fundraising. As a company begins to grow, we help put the first real structures in place, from defined roles and hiring processes to the operating procedures that let a founder step back from day-to-day tasks. For more established companies, we support the next set of challenges: scaling operations without losing quality, evaluating new markets and partnerships, integrating technology across a larger organization, and preparing for later funding rounds or acquisition. For science- and technology-based ventures at any stage, we also assess the research behind the product and help translate it into language that investors and non-specialist partners can evaluate.
Communication & funding
When a client must make a case to lenders, customers, boards, or review committees, we help ensure the case is made clearly. We prepare presentations, proposals, and reports, and we coach clients ahead of critical meetings. Our team has extensive experience presenting technical material to non-specialist audiences.
We also support grant and funding applications from start to finish: identifying eligible programs, preparing the application, developing the budget, and reviewing for compliance. Where a project rests on scientific claims, we evaluate the underlying research before the client commits resources.
Engagement terms
Clients work directly with our principals throughout an engagement. We do not resell software or accept referral fees, and our recommendations are independent. We have served clients in the United States and Europe and are experienced with the documentation and compliance requirements associated with public-sector and institutional contracts.
